As you may know, various states have enacted laws to limit the use of a Member's Social Security Number (SSN) on Member communications. As a result of this legislation and to better protect member identity and privacy, Flexible Benefits Plans, Inc. and Careington Dental have chosen to create a non SSN-based identifier for members to be used on external communications to the member, including member identification cards.

The new Careington Dental member identification number, in most cases, will be consistent with your customers seven digit numeric identification assigned by their Health Insurance carrier.

The new member identification number is due to become effective within the next few weeks and all new identification cards will be mailed within the next 30 to 60 days.

In the meantime, your customers should continue to use their existing identification card to access your Careington Dental benefits.
